The Runaround cast adds Jon Daly, Taran Killam, Hunter Parrish, Analeigh Tipton and Shannon Woodward
The Runaround cast has expanded today, adding Jon Daly (Masterminds, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), Taran Killam (“Saturday Night Live,” The Heat), Hunter Parrish (“Weeds,” Still Alice), Analeigh Tipton (Mississippi Grind, Crazy Stupid Love) and Shannon Woodward (“Westworld,” The Veil). The new names were announced today by Spring Pictures’ Mandy Tagger-Brockey and Adi Ezroni (A Late Quartet, Kelly & Cal), Wing and a Prayer Pictures’ Ron Perlman and Josh Crook (All I See You, Bone in the Throat) and P. Jennifer Dana (It Follows, Table 19).
The new actors join a trio of previously-announced The Runaround cast members that include Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Terminator Genisys), Emile Hirsch (Lone Survivor, Into the Wild) and Kristen Schaal (“The Last Man on Earth,” A Walk in the Woods). The feature film, which will shortly wrap production in Los Angeles, is being directed by Gavin Wiesen (The Art of Getting By) from a screenplay by Seth W. Owen (upcoming Morgan).
When a globe-trotting, workaholic father (Simmons) trying to visit his daughter on a last minute layover in Los Angeles discovers that she’s disappeared, he forces her awkward, nervous ex-boyfriend (Hirsch), still nursing a broken heart, to help him find her over the course of one increasingly crazy night.
“The hardest part of making this movie has been trying to keep a straight face with this incredible comedic talent. These actors are a force to be reckoned with and we feel lucky to have such a dream cast aboard,” said Ezroni and Tagger-Brockey.
“The producers have assembled a topnotch cast of emerging comedic talent to round out [The Runaround cast]. The hysterical script features an array of quirky and eccentric characters who are perfectly represented by these up-and-coming stars,” said Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel, co-founders and partners of The Solution.
The Runaround is produced in association with Abbolita Films and Heretic Films. The Solution Entertainment Group is handling international rights. The Gersh Agency and UTA are co-representing North American rights. The financing for the film was arranged by The Gersh Agency and UTA Independent Film Group with the producers counsels: CDAS’ Marc Simon for Spring Pictures and Jonathan Gray for Wing and a Prayer Pictures.
