Relativity Media has acquired Contractors, a comic spec script by Bob Fisher and David Hemingson, reports Variety.
Relativity Media’s Ryan Kavanaugh and Tucker Tooley will produce with Landscape Entertainment’s Bob Cooper. Relativity Media will finance and plans to get the film into production by early next year.
The comedy revolves around two underachieving contractors who build a dream house for a millionaire and his fiancee, one of the builders’ ex-girlfriends.
Fisher teamed with Steve Faber to write Wedding Crashers and We’re the Millers, the Peter Cattaneo-directed comedy that stars Steve Buscemi and Will Arnett. Fisher is now writing scripts with longtime friend Hemingson, who created the series “Kitchen Confidential.”
