Summit Entertainment, Icon Productions and Infinity Features have greenlit thriller Push, to be directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) and starring Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Camilla Belle and Djimon Hounsou.
Summit will finance and distribute the movie in North America as well as in a majority of territories around the globe. Icon will co-finance the film and distribute in the U.K., Australia/New Zealand and sell the film rights in Asia and South Africa.
Shooting will begin next month in Hong Kong for a 2008 release date.
Push centers on a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities who hide from a U.S. government agency in Hong Kong and band together to try to escape the control of the division.
The film is written by David Bourla and is being produced by Infinity’s William Vince and Icon’s Bruce Davey.
