Eric Roberts Skips His Daughter Emma’s Wedding, Actor Gives Statement on Absence

Eric Roberts has finally addressed his absence from Emma Roberts‘ wedding. He also denied speculation that he is estranged from his daughter, saying he “loves her very much.”

In a statement to Page Six, Roberts stated, “I love my daughter, always have, always will. It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.”

Previously, The Dark Knight actor had spoken about the estrangement rumors in a Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson episode. In the episode, he stated that their relationship is seen as “complicated through outside eyes … because they don’t get any of it. So they have their own take, whatever that is.”

However, in the same interview, he acknowledged that he could have been a better father and also noted, “I was a wash rag. I was not to be depended on emotionally whatsoever,” taking accountability for it.

How was the Idaho wedding?

Regardless of the rumors, the actor fondly looks back on the Scream Queen star, who recently married longtime partner Cody John, in an Idaho wedding ceremony.

This ceremony was attended by her aunt Julia Roberts, along with other A-listers like Danny Moder, Demi Moore, Sarah Paulson, Ashley Benson, Brandon Davis, Kristen Stewart, Dylan Meyer, and Billie Lourd. Her son, Rhodes Robert Hedlund, walked her down the aisle

The bride walked down the aisle in a custom-made gown by Monique Lhuillier. The gown reportedly took about nine months and nearly 1,000 hours to create. The fabric was specially dyed in an “antique rose” shade, giving the dress a vintage-inspired appearance.

The actress told Vogue, “I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress.”

She changed into a black, corseted dress by the same designer for the after-party, which was attended by the same wedding guests.

The American Horror Story actress met her now-husband through friends in the industry in 2022. Four years later, the two exchanged vows on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
