What happens in the Disclosure Day clip?
“This is beautiful. Look at this cake. It says ‘Congratulations Steven and John on 30 films together,’ which is about 23 films more than [Alfred] Hitchcock and Benny Herrmann,” Spielberg said in his speech in the video. “I’m not bragging. I’m just saying that this has been a collaboration which is 52 years now and 30 films. And don’t forget, John also did all of our television stuff. You know, Amazing Stories and episodes I directed. You also did our logo for DreamWorks. But it’s the movies that I remember, obviously. We all do.”
Williams added, “A tremendous amount of work here and great art [was] made in this room. It lives out there in the spirit of people. It’s a workplace. It’s a work room. But it produces a spiritual result.”
Disclosure Day was directed by Spielberg, who also co-wrote the screenplay with David Koepp. The movie featured a star-studded cast consisting of Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Wyatt Russell, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Elizabeth Marvel, Jeremy Shamos, Gabby Beans, and more. Following its theatrical debut, it received an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie also grossed over $236 million at the global box office.
Besides Williams, the creative team also included cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, editor Sarah Broshar, production designer Adam Stockhausen, casting director Cindy Tolan, and costume designer Paul Tazewell. The film was produced by Spielberg and Kristie Macosko Krieger, with Chris Brigham and Adam Somner serving as executive producers.
