Avengers: Doomsday trailer has fans buzzing over a fight sequence between an Avenger and an X-Men member. The unexpected showdown takes place in the ruined X-Mansion before the battle against Doctor Doom begins.
The latest footage teases an unexpected clash between two heroes
Shang-Chi and Gambit are involved in a short but intense battle inside the X-Mansion. Shang-Chi uses the glowing Ten Rings alongside his martial arts skills, while Gambit counters with his kinetically charged playing cards.
It is unclear why the two heroes are fighting. Still, the scene suggests the expanding multiversal conflict could pit heroes from different worlds against one another before they team up.

Shang-Chi’s first MCU appearance was in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). Simu Liu plays Shang-Chi, one of Marvel’s strongest martial artists. By the end of the film, he inherits the ancient Ten Rings from his father, Xu Wenwu. They grant him powerful energy-based abilities and greatly enhance his combat capabilities.
Gambit, whose real name is Remy LeBeau, is a mutant who can charge objects with kinetic energy and explode them. He famously uses kinetically charged playing cards as his signature weapon. He is also a highly skilled hand-to-hand combatant and an expert with a bo staff. Channing Tatum made his official live-action debut as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine after years of effort to bring the character to the big screen.
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer also promises an epic showdown. The Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four prepare to do battle with none other than Doctor Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr.).
