Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Sparks Fan Clashes Over RDJ’s Doctor Doom Voice & Accent

Avengers: Doomsday trailer has sparked a major debate among fans over Robert Downey Jr.‘s voice and accent as Doctor Doom. RDJ will play the menacing villain Victor von Doom in the highly anticipated MCU movie, helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo.

What are people saying about Doctor Doom’s voice and accent in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer?

Avengers: Doomsday trailer opens with a menacing line from Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. He says, “Something’s coming. Something we may not be able to deter. Before this day is done, we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.”

It seems RDJ has modified his tone and overall voice, especially while wearing the iconic mask for the character. And going by the trailer, it appears the actor’s current accent will remain this way throughout the movie as well.

Now, a lot of MCU fans have come up with their reactions to the first impression of RDJ as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. While some of them are hyped after hearing the Marvel star’s voice as the main villain, others are not so pleased.

One user, named @spn678, took to X and praised RDJ’s voice as Doctor Doom.

Another fan, @_kraftpunkk, echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “RDJ’s Dr. Doom voice sounds amazing. Wouldn’t even know it’s him under the mask.”

Then, there was one user, named @B00K0FTRIBE, who didn’t seem much impressed but also not very upset with the actor’s Doctor Doom voice accent. They wrote, “RDJ’s Doom voice isn’t as bad as I’d thought it would be but he shouldn’t even be doing it in the first place”

However, some users are angry over RDJ’s voice impression after hearing it in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer.

Reflecting similar opinions, another fan, @drivenbyfilms, wrote, “can we have a voice actor dubbing him because wtf was that??”

Besides Downey Jr. as the leading villain, Avengers: Doomsday also includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, and James Marsden.
