Avengers: Doomsday trailer is finally here, and its official synopsis has confirmed a long-rumored plot detail. The upcoming MCU movie features an ensemble cast, led by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth, among others.
What does the Avengers: Doomsday trailer synopsis tell us about the movie?
Following a long wait for avid MCU fans, Marvel has revealed the first official trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. It shows the beloved superheroes and the menacing Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Interestingly, the trailer has been released with a new official synopsis, which basically confirms a very speculated plot point. It reads, “In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.”
Now, this synopsis aligns perfectly with previous theories and rumors of the story. They hinted at three universes colliding with each other as part of the incursions. In Doomsday, there will be Earth-616, featuring original MCU heroes and other characters; Earth-828, featuring the Fantastic Four; and Earth-10005, involving characters from the 20th Century Fox X-Men movie universe.
Speaking more of Doomsday, it has also confirmed the appearance of Tom Hiddleston as Loki. For a long time, he was missing from the promotional content for the movie. But the latest trailer has made it clear that he will play a crucial role in the story.
Besides Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom, Evans as Steve Rogers, and Hemsworth as Thor, the movie also features Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant Man, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova/Black Widow, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Wyatt Russell as the U.S. Agent, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
