Well Go USA has confirmed that Train to Busan will return to select theaters in the United States and Canada on August 14, 2026. The anniversary edition is titled Trail to Busan-10th Anniversary Remastered & Revived. Moreover, the North American theaters will screen the movie in 4 K resolution.

“No one delivers zombie films quite like Yeon Sang-ho. Train to Busan redefined the genre for audiences around the world, and we’re excited to bring it back to theaters in 4K for its 10th anniversary,” Doris Pfardrescher, the President and CEO of Well Go USA, noted. “With Colony, he takes that intensity and scale even further, delivering a bold and terrifying new vision for fans.”

Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, the 2016 film became a worldwide success. It earned more than $98 million at the global box office against a budget of around $8.5 million. Even after a decade, many horror fans still consider it one of the greatest zombie movies ever made.

The story follows Seok-woo, played by Gong Yoo, as he fights to protect his young daughter during a deadly zombie outbreak on a train traveling from Seoul to Busan. Jung Yu-mi, Ma Dong-seok, and Kim Su-an starred in the movie, with Ma’s performance becoming one of its most memorable highlights.

The upcoming release shows a group of survivors trapped inside a biotech conference after a mutating virus is accidentally leaked. The release also follows Yeon Sang-ho’s other zombie movie, Colony, which is coming out on August 28, 2026, in North American Theaters.
