‘Masterpiece’ Dune 3’s Conclusion Will Go Even Beyond the Messiah Book

Javier Bardem recently revealed that the ending of Dune 3 will go further than the conclusion in the third book. He also hyped the upcoming sequel as a “masterpiece” that will end “like nobody expected.” The movie is set to clash in theaters with Marvel Studios’ much-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday on December 18.

Javier Bardem recently had a chat with Entertainment Tonight in which he talked about Dune 3 and described it as an epic conclusion to the franchise.

When asked how he feels to be a part of the iconic Dune movies, Bardem said he “can’t wait to see” Dune 3 on the big screen. He stated that the movie is not finished yet as it is “taking a lot of work.”

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune 3 will feature a massive star cast, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Bardem, Florence Pugh, and more. The most notable addition to join Dune 3’s cast is Robert Pattinson, who takes on the role of the film’s menacing villain, a face dancer named Scytale.

The actor spoke about his experiences working on the set of Dune 3 and said, “It’s going to be a masterpiece. Because Denis (Villeneuve) really wants go farther and farther from the last movie. It’s like what he did with the second movie compared to the first one.” He further added that the third Dune movie will have a “conclusion like nobody suspected.” Bardem gave a message to the readers of the books and said, “Those who have read the book know the ‘Messiah’ book, but it’s beyond that. It’s going to be a feast. It’s going to be something extraordinary.”

Previously, while talking to Vanity Fair in 2024, Villeneuve said that the franchise doesn’t feel like a trilogy. He stated that the upcoming sequel will have its “own identity” and “feel different” from the previous movies.
