Dylan O’Brien to Star in Dark Comedy Twinless

Dylan O’Brien will star in and executive produce the upcoming dark comedy Twinless, written and directed by James Sweeney, who will also star in the film. It’s the latest film role for O’Brien, who is linked to several upcoming projects.

What is Twinless about?

Twinless follows Straight Up, the directorial debut that earned Sweeney a Best First Screenplay nomination Independent Spirit Awards in 2021. According to Deadline, Sweeney’s dark comedy centers on two young as they meet in a twin bereavement support group. From there, an unexpected bromance develops between them.

It’s executive produced by Ali Jazayeri, David Gendron, and Liz Destro. Three Point Capital is financing the project and Republic Pictures has the global rights. Twinless is produced by Academy Award-nominated producer David Permut and Permut Presentations (Hacksaw Ridge, Face/Off, Rustin). Mikey Lee executive produces while Alex Astrachan co-produces.

O’Brien recently starred in Ponyboi, a thriller that debuted at Sundance. Up next, he’ll appear in SNL 1975, from director Jason Reitman, as Dan Aykroyd. The Teen Wolf and Maze Runner alum is also set to appear in the drama Caddo Lake and the thriller Anniversary, which co-stars Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Zoey Deutch, and Phoebe Dyneor.
