Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn Reveals More About Blurp

Earlier this month, a new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 revealed a new creature that director James Gunn called Blurp. Now we’ve been given a bit more information about the creature, courtesy of the director.

Taking to Twitter, Gunn was asked by a fan what type of animal Blurp is. According to the filmmaker, Blurp is a “furry f’saki.” For clarification, he noted that a non-furry F’saki was the type of animal that was seen eating orlonis while people bet on them in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Gunn was asked in another reply if Blurp would talk or simply make noises. He revealed that Blurp is “an animal” and that this means “he can’t talk.” Instead, he’ll just be making noises whenever he shows up.

Another person followed up Gunn’s reply about Blurp talking, jokingly telling the person who asked the question that the director called her “stupid on main,” to which he playfully replied that he “so did not.”

“In Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days,” reads the synopsis. “Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is once again written and directed by James Gunn. MCU vets Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel return to reprise their respective roles as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Kraglin, Nebula, Mantis, Rocket, and Groot, while Maria Bakalova returns as Cosmo the Spacedog. The sequel also features the introduction of franchise newcomers Will Poulter and Chukwudi Iwuji, who portray the roles of Adam Warlock and High Evolutionary.

The space-traveling team was last seen in Marvel Studios’ Disney+ special presentation Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which was filmed simultaneously with the upcoming sequel. In the holiday special, Drax and Mantis try to cheer up Peter by throwing him a Christmas party celebration with the appearance of his childhood idol Kevin Bacon.
