Netflix 2021 Film Preview: First Look at Red Notice, Don’t Look Up & More
Netflix has unveiled a brand new promo reel for their upcoming 2021 movie slate, providing us with our first look at some of their high-profile films including: Red Notice starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds; Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up led by Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence; and The Harder They Fall starring Idris Elba, Regina King and Zazie Beetz. The 2021 promo also offered sneak peeks at Lin-Manuel Miranda and Halle Berry’s respective feature directorial debuts Tick, Tick…Boom and Bruised as well as Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. It also teases Thunder Force, Escape From Spiderhead, Yes Day, Sweet Girl, Moxie, Monster, Fear Street and more.
Red Notice is described as a as a globe-trotting, action-comedy heist thriller designed as a three-hander between Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. In the film, Johnson plays an Interpol agent tasked with capturing the most wanted art thief in the world. “Red Notice” refers to the highest and most serious of Interpol notices (there are eight) and concerns the arrest of wanted criminals. Meanwhile, Gal Gadot is to portray role of the world’s greatest art thief with Ryan Reynolds playing the world’s greatest con-man.
Written and directed by Adam McKay, Don’t Look Up will center on two low-level astronomers who have to embark on a media tour around the globe in an effort to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that is going to destroy Earth. The star-studded film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Chris Evans, Himesh Patel, Timothée Chalamet, Cate Blanchett, Rob Morgan, Matthew Perry, Ariana Grande, Tomer Sisley, Kid Cudi, Tyler Perry, Melanie Lynskey, and Ron Perlman.
Starring Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Regina King, Lakeith Stanfield, Zazie Beetz, and Delroy Lindo, The Harder They Fall is described as an all-black Western which tells the story of when outlaw Nat Love (Majors) discovers that the man (Elba) who killed his parents two decades ago is being released from prison, he reunites with his gang to track his enemy down and seek his revenge.
