Girls & Boys: New Netflix rom-com movie in the works from Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is in the process of developing a brand new romantic comedy film titled Girls & Boys which will be inspired by Queer Eye cast member Antoni Porowski’s real-life dating experiences as a sexually fluid man.
Girls & Boys was developed by Porowski along with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, who will also serve as a producer through his Khalabo Ink Society. This project will be part of Barris’ multi-year overall deal with Netflix which he had signed in 2018.
Antoni Porowski is a Canadian chef and TV personality, who has gained recognition as a series regular and a member of the Fab Five in Netflix’s Emmy Award-winning variety show Queer Eye which had just been renewed for its sixth season.
Girls & Boys will be written by filmmaking duo Jeff Chan and Andrew Rhymer, who also recently signed on another major project with New Line Cinema for the romantic comedy film Singles Day.
Chan and Rhymer are best known for their feature writing and directorial debut film Plus One which had its premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival where it won the Audience Award. They also served as writers for Hulu’s coming-of-age comedy series PEN15.
