Michael Bay Sets First Look Film & TV Deal with Sony Pictures
Michael Bay’s Bay Films has set a multi-year first-look deal with Sony Pictures to develop film and television projects, according to Deadline. Bay previously collaborated with the studio on his directorial debut Bad Boys, with the latest installment in the franchise, Bad Boys for Life, having been released in theaters earlier this year.
Bay recently directed the action thriller 6 Underground for Netflix, starring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Dave Franco (Now You See Me, The Disaster Artist), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven, Sicario: Day Of The Soldado), Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising, Triple Frontier), Corey Hawkins (Kong: Skull Island, BlacKkKlansman), Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse), Lior Raz (Fauda), Mélanie Laurent (Operation Finale) and Payman Maadi (13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi).
Bay’s upcoming movie projects include the drama Black Five, based on his original idea and written by Ehren Kruger (Top Gun: Maverick).
For TV, Bay serves as an executive producer for Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, starring A Quiet Place’s John Krasinski, and is also an executive producer for USA Network’s The Purge series.
