Irresistible will also be written and produced by Stewart. The film is reportedly set in a heated political campaign trail but further details about the film’s plot and characters are still being kept under wraps. Production is scheduled to begin this spring.

Lyonne joins a cast that already includes Steve Carrell (Beautiful Boy), Rose Byrne (I Am Mother), Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire), Topher Grace (BlacKkKlansman) and Chris Cooper (Live by Night). The film will also mark an Orange is the New Black reunion between the 40-year-old actress and Alan Aisenberg.

Focus Features in partnership with Plan B (Vice, Moonlight) are producing the film with Focus’ President of Production Josh McLaughlin to oversee. Focus and Universal Pictures will be handling the worldwide distribution rights of the film.

Davis first got noticed as a breakout star of AMC’s computer drama Halt and Catch Fire. Since then, she’s appeared in Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049, the “San Junipero” episode of Black Mirror, and Jason Reitman’s family drama Tully. She’s set to appear in Happiest Season alongside co-star Kristen Stewart as well as the upcoming sixth film in The Terminator franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate.

Lyonne first found fame with a supporting role in the teen sex comedy franchise American Pie and has since starred in projects including Sleeping with Other People, HBO’s Girls and IFC’s Portlandia before heading to Netflix for a supporting role in the Netflix prison comedy Orange is the New Black and Russian Doll, which she co-created with Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler.
