Fast & Furious 6 Passes $500 Million in Record Time for Universal


Universal Pictures today announced that Fast & Furious 6 has become the fastest film to climb to $500 million at the worldwide box office in the studio’s history.

Fast & Furious 6 raced into the box office as number one in all 60 territories where it opened and held first position worldwide for two weeks in a row. The sixth film in the franchise scored Universal’s highest-grossing opening weekend of all time and the biggest for Universal’s homegrown “Fast & Furious” franchise. To date, the film has grossed $180.3 million in North America and $342.2 million internationally, with yesterday’s grosses pushing the film past $500 million worldwide.
