John Boyega set to tackle the law in A Naked Singularity
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that John Boyega (Star Wars: Episode IX) is set to star in A Naked Singularity, based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Sergio De La Pava.
Chase Palmer, who wrote the blockbuster adaptation of It, will sit in the director’s chair and help work on a script written by David Matthews (Vinyl). Scott Free Productions is producing the film with 3311 Productions and Tony Ganz.
Per the report, the story follows Cast, a young public defender who begins to question everything after he loses a case. The novel “explores the American criminal justice system,” and served as the debut novel for De La Pava, who has gone on to write “Personae,” “Lost Empress,” and the article “A Day’s Sail.”
Boyega is best known for his role as Finn in the recent Star Wars series, but has appeared in such films as Detroit, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and the upcoming animated TV mini-series Watership Down.
