Strong is set to portray the role of Cannabis Kingpin Matthew, who is described as someone who seeks to take control over the last lucrative illegal market in Europe. This film marks the second time Strong will be working with McConaughey, whom he co-starred with Anne Hathaway (Ocean’s 8) in director Steven Knight’s upcoming thriller Serenity which is out on January 2019.

We are thrilled how well the cast is coming together,” Miramax’s CEO Bill Block said. “Jeremy is a multi-faceted performer, and one of the most respected actors of his generation, we are excited to bring someone of his caliber to this project.”

Toff Guys will explore the collision between old money European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex with new gang entrants swarming. Ritchie’s signature visual cocktail will be served with an abundance of fun. Ritchie wrote the script with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson.

Ritchie is currently in post-production on the live-action adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin starring Billy Magnussen, Will Smith, and Naomi Scott. His last film, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, was a costly misfire that grossed just $148 million worldwide on a $175 million budget. Still, the director’s Sherlock Holmes films were sizable hits, while his early work, namely Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels remain minor classics.

Miramax’s Bob Osher and Matthew Anderson will oversee the film in behalf of the film studion. Toff Guys’s production is scheduled to begin sometime this fall. The movie will film in England.
