CS Checks in with the Gang on the Set of Muppets Most Wanted

Picking up just moments after the end of 2011’s The Muppets, Walt Disney Pictures’ Muppets Most Wanted heads to theaters in March, bringing Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and the rest of the world’s most eclectic theater troupe on a globetrotting tour of Europe alongside co-stars Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell.

Last summer, ComingSoon.net was lucky enough to join a small group of journalists that visited the Muppets while they filmed a scene at Los Angeles’ Union Station. An impressive sight to be sure, dozens of Muppets took over an entire railway platform, preparing for a train ride from Los Angeles to London (as you do), loading suitcases, trunks and crates with labels identifying them as containing everything from Electric Mayhem instruments to “Pigs in Space” sets.

Because print interviews can’t quite capture the genuine magic of conversing with Kermit the Frog between takes, we’re trying something brand new and have converted our three Muppet interviews (Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Walter) into special video transcripts that you can check out in the players below. If that’s not enough, we’ve also updated our gallery with 14 new behind-the-scenes stills from the new film, all of which you can check out in the gallery viewer at the bottom of this page.

As with The Muppets, the latest adventure is directed by James Bobin with a script by both Bobin and Nicholas Stoller. Set to again feature songs from Bret McKenzie (who took home an Academy Award for his work on the last film), Muppets Most Wanted hits theaters on March 21.
