In Frankly Speaking episode eight, Woo-Joo returns to work but gets disappointed. At the office, her boss asks her not to come to the workplace for a while. As Woo-Joo becomes a contestant on the dating show, she is asked to stay away from the crew. It hurts her feelings as she is the senior writer of the show; however, her name will not be mentioned because she was a contestant in it.

Later, she joins a low-budget variety show to fill in the writer’s position as the original writer is on leave. The show is about reviewing an old lady’s restaurant. Things get complicated when the host does not arrive. The producer asks Woo-Joo to find someone, but no one she contacts is free. Eventually, Ki-Baek comes to her rescue.

His participation helps the show and the old lady’s restaurant. After a long day at work, the couple relaxes while having ice cream. She suggests that Ki-Baek should host more variety shows. In response, he says he will only do it if she writes it. He then asks Woo-Joo if they will take her car to their dating show’s photoshoot the next day. She refuses and states that they should not spend time together in public.

Woo-Joo mentions that they should keep their relationship a secret because it may affect the dating show’s rating. She points out Ki-Baek’s decision to pick Choi-Hui in the finale, and therefore, he and Woo-Joo should not be spotted together in public. Woo-Joo further reveals that she didn’t pick anyone on the show.

Meanwhile, episode eight features her ex-boyfriend, Kim Jung-Heon (Joo Jong-Hyuk), having a hard time. After the reality show ended, he has not taken a break from work and looks exhausted. He recalls the moments that he spent with Woo-Joo on the dating show.

Frankly Speaking episode eight further shows Jung-Heon, Woo-Joo, Ki-Baek, Choi-Hui, and other contestants from the dating show gather for a photoshoot. While the reality show’s fans ship Jung-Heon and Woo-Joo, Ki-Baek gets jealous. However, Jung-Heon and Choi-Hui realize something is happening between the lead characters.

After the photoshoot, Ki-Baek and Woo-Joo return home together. Along the way, they spend some quality time together and head towards their building, holding hands. Ki-Baek’s father sees them but pretends that he has not. Ki-Baek tells him that they like each other but have not put a label on their relationship.

The next day, Ki-Baek sends several text messages to Woo-Joo throughout the day. She responds that she is busy at home with some work. While returning home, Ki-Baek decides that he will officially ask her out on a date and name their relationship.

Meanwhile, Jung-Heon arrives at Woo-Joo’s mother’s salon. While she sets his hair, he apologizes to her for hurting her daughter in the past. He reveals that he lied to his mother about Woo-Joo’s profession and family background to protect her. Woo-Joo hears Jung-Heon’s confession and advises him not to feel guilty anymore.

On the other hand, Ki-Baek heads towards her home to talk to Woo-Joo about their relationship. He sees Woo-Joo hugging Jung-Heon.
