Missing Crown Prince: Everything To Know about EXO’s Suho & Hong Ye-Ji’s New K-Drama

Missing Crown Prince (The Crown Prince Has Disappeared) is a new K-drama set to premiere in April 2024. It is a spin-off of the 2021 historical comedy romance series Bossam: Steal the Fate. Starring Suho and Hong Ye-Ji, the K-drama revolves around the disappearance of Crown Prince Lee Gon.

After Choi Myung-Yoon kidnaps Crown Prince Lee Gon, it leads to growing panic among the Joseon people. While Myung-Yoon does not consider major consequences, things get complicated when Lee Gon’s life gets in danger, leading them to be on the run to save their lives. Along the way, the lead characters develop feelings for each other.

Missing Crown Prince stars three lead actors — EXO’s Suho, Hong Ye-Ji, and Kim Min-Kyu. Actors Myung Se-Bin and Kim Joo-Heon also play pivotal roles. Suho plays Crown Prince Lee Gon, the eldest son of the king. He is a responsible prince who is pressured to marry a noblewoman. One day, he goes missing, and the kingdom panics. Little do they know that he has been kidnapped. 

Hong Ye-Ji from Love Song for Illusion plays Choi Myung-Yoon, the daughter of royal physician Choi Sang-Rok (Kim Joo-Heon). She is a potential bride for the crown prince and is curious about his future husband. In order to know him better, she kidnaps him. However, things go sideways when the duo faces danger.

Meanwhile, Kim Min-Kyu plays Grand Prince Do Sung, Lee Gon’s younger brother. A free-spirited person, he falls in love with Myung-Yoon on their first encounter. After learning that the royal family has selected her for a prince, he will likely get confused and think that she is his future bride. Meanwhile, Min-Kyu is pretty close to his brother, Lee Gon. When he goes missing, he will put his life in danger for the crown prince.

Missing Crown Prince release date, time & more

Missing Crown Prince will air on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 9:40 p.m. KST on MBN. It will also stream on Viki. The historical K-drama will air twice a week on Saturday and Sunday.

According to MyDramaList, the K-drama synopsis reads, “A Joseon-era version of a romantic comedy about a crown prince who is kidnapped by a woman who is set to become his wife. While on the run for their lives, romance blossoms between the two.”

Directed by Kim Jin-Man is the director, the series is written by Bossam: Steal the Fate screenwriters Park Chul and Kim Ji-Soo. Reportedly, it is EXO’s Suho and Kim Min-Kyu’s first historical collaboration. Hong Ye-Ji has earlier worked alongside Park Ji-Hoon in another historical drama, Love Song for Illusion.

Missing Crown Prince will air twice a week on MBN and Viki.
