Blood Free is a futuristic thriller K-drama that centers around the biotechnology company BF, founded by CEO Yoon Ja-Yoo (Han Hyo-Joo). BF group dominates the genetically engineered cultured meat market and produces lab-grown meat. Ja-Yoo’s mission is to end the food chain, stopping humans from consuming animal meat. Meanwhile, as the company grows and dominates the market share, intense skepticism and scrutiny follow from inside the company and outside.

Ja-Yoo found BF with co-founder On-San (Lee Moo-Saeng), a longtime friend with a PhD in Physiology. As rivalries and unrest grow in opposition to BF Group, Ja-Yoo receives death threats and dangerous incidents.

Eventually, she hires Woo Chae-Woon (Ju Ji-Hoon), a graduate of the Naval Academy, as her bodyguard. He does everything in his power to protect the CEO and the company while dealing with his work and investigations.

Jeon Seok-Ho, Kim Byung-Chul, and Park Sung-Kyu also play interesting roles in the drama.

Director Park Cheol-Hwan, known for his contribution to the popular television series Grid, helms the upcoming Disney Plus K-drama Blood Free. Meanwhile, Lee Soo-Yeon, known for her work on Grid and Forest of Secrets, serves as the writer of the series.

Moreover, Disney Plus recently released the trailer, giving viewers a glimpse of what they can expect. The focus of the BF group is on eradicating food that requires any form of animal slaughter.
