Chief Detective 1958 is an upcoming period crime-action K-drama that is all set to make its arrival on MBC in April 2024. MBC has recently released photos from the screenplay reading of the upcoming series on social media. As per the photos, well-known South Korean actor Lee Je-Hoon will star in the highly anticipated series in the lead role of a young detective, Park Young-Han.
The script reading photos, released by MBC, also disclosed that apart from Lee Je-Hoon, the main cast list for the K-drama also includes Lee Dong-Hwi and Seo Eun-Soo, among others. Chief Detective 1958 is a prequel to another series, Chief Inspector. Kim Young-Shin is the writer of the series, while Kim Seong-Hoon has served as the director. Hong Seok-Woo and Jang Jae-Hoon are the creators of the new K-drama.
The newly dropped stills from the script reading session of the upcoming MBC period K-drama reveal the cast of the series. The main cast members of Chief Detective 1958 include Lee Dong-Hwi, Lee Je-Hoon, Seo Eun-Soo, Yoon Hyun-Soo, Choi Woo-Sung, Jung Soo-Bin and Choi Duk-Moon. One of the original cast members of Chief Inspector, Choi Bool-Am, was also present during the script reading. He is expected to play a cameo role in MBC’s upcoming prequel series.
In Chief Detective 1958, Lee Je-Hoon will portray the lead role of Detective Park Young-Han. Lee Dong-Hwi will play the significant character Kim Sang-Soon, while Seo Eun-Soo will play Lee Hye-Joo. Meanwhile, Yoon Hyun-Soo will play the character of Seo Ho-Jung, Choi Woo-Sung will play the role of Jo Kyeong-Hwan and Jung Soo-Bin will be seen as Bong Nan-Sil. And finally, Choi Duk-Moon will portray the character Yoo Dae-Cheon.
