Jang Dong-Yoon Movies & K-Dramas List: My Man Is Cupid, Daily Dose of Sunshine & More

South Korean actor Jang Dong Yoon is known for his roles in various movies and K-dramas. The star gained recognition even before his acting career. In 2015, news outlets reported that the actor had come across a robber threatening a convenience store employee with an armed weapon. Dong-Yoon’s act of planning and having the culprit arrested made news. He was still a student at Hanyang University when he received multiple casting offers after people saw him on the news.

Jang Dong-Yoon started his acting career with the web drama Women at Game Company. He earned his major role in the drama Solomon’s Perjury in 2017. However, he became well-known after starring in the popular teen romance drama School 2017. The actor then went on to star in many successful dramas, including The Tale of Nokdu and Oasis. He recently starred in Daily Dose of Sunshine and can be seen in the currently airing K-drama My Man is Cupid.

My Man is Cupid (2023)

My Man is Cupid is a popular K-drama that was released on December 1, 2023. The series follows the story of a charismatic fairy named Cheon Sang-Hyeok (Jang Dong-Yoon), who makes women fall in love with him. 500 years ago, his wings turned into ashes. So, he went through a series of metamorphoses to restore them. He eventually comes in touch with Oh Baek-Ryun (Nana).

The drama is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Daily Dose of Sunshine (2023)

Jang Dong-Yoon essays the role of Song Yoo-Chan in Daily Dose of Sunshine. Yoo-Chan is a close friend of nurse Park Da-Eun (Park Bo-Young). While he may seem like a bright person on the outside, he suffers from a severe mental health issue that no one knows about. He also secretly likes Da-Eun but misses his chance to tell her when she starts liking Dong Go-Yoon (Yeon Woo-Jin).

The drama is currently streaming on Netflix.

School 2017 (2017)

School 2017 is the seventh installment of the popular drama series School. The story follows a group of students, including a fun artist, a class president, and a rich kid, who try to survive the pressures of school life. However, they also harbor secrets that lead to a thrilling narrative development. The group stands against a corrupt school system. Jang Dong-Yoon plays Song Dae-Hwi, a bright kid who doesn’t have enough money to enroll in his dream college.

The drama premiered on July 17, 2017, and is available to stream on Viki.

The Tale of Nokdu (2019)

The Tale of Nokdu follows the story of Jeon Nok-Du (Jang Dong-Yoon), who disguises himself as a woman to enter a village of widows. Over there, he meets Dong Dong-Ju (Kim So-Hyun), a kisaeng trainee. The story is set in the Joseon period and is based on the webtoon Nok Du Jeon, which is written by Hye Jin-Yang.

It premiered on September 30, 2019, and is available on Viki.

Run Boy Run (2020)

Jang Dong Yoon essays the role of track runner Do-Won in the 2020 action thriller film Run Boy Run. He suffers an injury and changes schools, only to find Jin-Soo (Seo Byuk-Joon). However, he soon notices the latter’s changed behavior, which leads to a series of dramatic events.

The film released on May 28, 2020. However, it has not been made available to watch on any streaming platform as of yet.

Jang Dong-Yoon has proved his acting versatility in a variety of dramas and movies, including Long Distance, Project Wolf Hunting, and more. As for his other dramas, it includes Oasis, Solomon’s Perjury, A Poem a Day, and The King of the Desert.
