The Matchmakers Episode 9 Recap & Spoilers: Did Cho Yi-Hyun Accept Rowoon’s Love Confession?

Starring Rowoon and Cho Yi-Hyun, The Matchmakers Episode 9 aired on Tuesday on KBS. A misunderstanding briefly creates distance between the lead characters.

The Matchmakers episode 9 started with Rowoon’s Sim Jung-Woo accusing Yeo Joo-Daek’s Cho Yi-Hyun of murdering the Left State Minister’s eldest son. An eight-year-old case turns her life upside down. Without listening to Joo-Daek’s explanation, he asks her to leave the place.

Jung-Woo is heartbroken and is announced “lovesick” by a doctor. When he meets Joo-Daek, he confesses his love for her. But the response was not what he expected.

The Matchmakers Episode 9 ending: Rowoon claims Cho Yi-Hyun lied about her feelings

The Matchmakers episode 9 adds tension and curiosity to the storyline. Jung-Woo (Rowoon) is unaware of Joo-Daek’s real identity. She is Soon-Deok, the widow of the Left State Minister’s second son.

Jung-Woo doesn’t know that she borrowed the name from someone related to the murder case. Hence, Cho Yi-Hyun’s character seeks her brother, Inspector Jung Soon-Goo’s help. Although he and Jung-Woo question each other’s intentions for helping Joo-Daek, they agree to join forces to solve the eight-year-old case.

Meanwhile, Jung-Woo is heartbroken after Joo-Daek rejects his love confession. When the bounty hunter reaches the old maidens’ house to catch Joo-Daek, she meets Jung-Woo. He asks her to live near him so that she can be protected. But she denies it. This is when he asks, “Will you trust me when I say I became lovesick because I fell in love with you?”

She is taken aback and replies, “I do not have romantic feelings for you.” After rejection, Jung-Woo didn’t make eye contact with her throughout the episode. Towards The Matchmakers episode 9 end, they arrive at a monk’s place to question about the case. While they wait in the enchanted weather, he says that he will not raise concern for whatever she wants to say at the moment.

The Matchmakers Episode 9 ends with him asking, “Why did you lie saying you do not like me?” The curtain closes as Rowoon and Cho Yi-Hyun’s characters deeply look into each other’s eyes.

Viewers can watch The Matchmakers on Viki. New episodes air on Mondays and Tuesdays on KBS.
