Park Se-wan Confirmed as the Female Lead of a New Comedy Crime K-Drama

Actress Park Se-wan has bagged the female lead role in a new comedy crime K-drama, Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit.

While details are still kept under wraps, Park Se-wan’s agency has reportedly confirmed cast information. Last month, Kim Dong-wook was confirmed as the male lead of the upcoming series.

Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit is a comedy crime drama that focuses on the lowest-ranking client crimes unit in the country. The series follows the unit’s transformation to the nation’s top-ranked team.

Park Se-wan’s Role in Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit Explored

On Tuesday, October 10, Park Se-wan’s agency Ghost Studio confirmed that she is the female lead in the upcoming K-drama series, Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit.

The agency stated, “It is true that [Park Se Wan] will be starring in ‘Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit.’” According to reports, she will play the role of Detective Seo Min-seo in the Songwon Police Station’s homicide unit. With an easygoing personality, her character will be full of empathy.

Along with Se-wan, the comedy-crime series will also star Kim Dong-wook as the male protagonist. His character, Dong-bang Yu-bin, is the head of the Songwon Police Station’s homicide squad. After rejecting a tempting job offer, Yu-bin returns to Korea to lead the country’s lowest-ranking client crimes unit. Under his leadership, the unit will rise to the top ranks.

Confirming his casting in the forthcoming drama in September, his agency KEYEAST stated, “He has received an offer to star in the new drama ‘Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit’ and is currently reviewing it.”

Dong-wook is set to get married this winter. His co-star Park Se-wan, on the other hand, will appear in Netflix’s upcoming drama Doona!, starring Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong in lead roles.

Previously, Se-wan appeared in the K-drama series, One Day Off, which consisted of eight episodes and aired in May 2023. She has also featured in movies, such as Life Is Beautiful, Collectors, and No Mercy. Her upcoming projects include Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit and Victory (a 2024 movie).
