Arshad Warsi, the actor who brought Circuit to life in the iconic Munna Bhai franchise, recently shed light on the much-anticipated third installment. “I will do it too,” asserts Arshad Warsi when questioned about the long-awaited Munna Bhai 3. The iconic franchise continues to linger in the hearts of fans who eagerly await the third installment. While the prospect of Munna Bhai Chale America was initially met with excitement, the project seems to have hit a roadblock, leaving fans in anticipation for over a decade.
In a recent conversation with Bombay Times, Arshad Warsi shared insights into the status of the much-anticipated sequel. He revealed his enthusiasm as well as the makers, stating, “Vidhu Vinod Chopra wants to make it. Rajkumar Hirani also wants it to be made, and Sanjay Bhai also wants to do it, and I will do it too. However, the film is not in the works at present.”
Furthermore, he addressed the lingering uncertainty. Warsi expressed, “Raju has three great scripts for the sequel. Some things are missing here and there. I don’t think that’s happening. Now a lot of time has passed. I told Raju that whatever begins also has an end… Munna Bhai series needs to end.”
Warsi’s statement echoes the sentiments of Rajkumar Hirani, the director behind the series. In an earlier interview, Hirani shared insights into the challenges of living up to the legacy of the franchise. He revealed, “The struggle with this film is that the first two films were blockbuster hits and I have five half-written scripts. I feel that if I don’t reach the level of those two films, I won’t be able to make the third one.”
However, as of now, there’s no official confirmation whether the installment is permanently shelved or not.
