Superstar Rajinikanth has truly redefined Tamil cinema with his blockbuster movies. The actor enjoys a massive fanbase that celebrates his arrival in the cinema with festival-like fervor. In return, the Tamil star entertains his fans thoroughly with his new scripts and roles. Currently, he is on a roll and is starring in back-to-back movies. While he was last seen in Lal Salaam, his former co-star has revealed that the actor’s Jailer 2 is now on the cards.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer dominated the box office last year. Allegedly, the movie minted a whopping $72.9 million at its worldwide box office. Even after the movie’s successful theatrical run, it did well on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Recently, actress Mirnaa Menon, who played Rajinikanth’s daughter-in-law in Jailer, has confirmed that Jailer 2’s script is ready.
Mirnaa Menon teases update on Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2
Mirnaa Menon recently starred in the Tamil movie Birthmark, and while interacting with Cineulagam about her new film, she spilled the beans on the Rajinikanth starrer’s sequel. The actress revealed that she spoke with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar and added that he is excited about the project. She said, “I spoke to him (Nelson) when the announcement happened. He revealed that he’s happy and excited about kickstarting the project. However, I did not inquire about my character in the film. I think it’s a director’s creative freedom whether to cast me or not.”
Further talking about whether she will be a part of Jailer 2, the actress said, “I think whether or not my character needs to be extended or not is purely his discussion as a filmmaker. But if I get the opportunity to be part of the film again, I will gladly accept it.”
Following the response Rajinikanth’s Jailer received, it would be interesting to know how Jailer 2 will unfold.
