Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s supernatural thriller, Shaitaan, is gearing up for its release in March. Meanwhile, its makers are already planning its sequel.
The movie also stars Jyothika alongside Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj. Vikas Bahl has directed it with Jio Studios, Ajay Devgn Ffilms, and Panorama Studios as producers. The movie is a Hindi remake of a Gujarati movie, Vash. Shaitaan’s official announcement came in May 2023, following its official title reveal in January 2024. It is set to release on March 8, 2024.

Shaitaan 2: Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak reveals sequel is planned
The official trailer for Shaitaan premiered on Thursday, February 22, and it featured R Madhavan’s Angad hypnotizing Ajay Devgn’s daughter to extend his unexpected stay at their house. Speaking at the trailer launch, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak revealed that the movie was shot in 40 days and that part 2 will soon be in the works. He said, “40 din mein shoot hui hai. Part 2 bhi hamaare dimaag mein taiyaar hai. (The shoot was completed in 40 days. Also, part 2 is in our mind.”
Ajay Devgn also shared his excitement of working on a horror film after a long time. He said, “I heard the script and loved it.” He further added, “Kaafi time se horror genre ki film karni thi. Bhoot ki thi. (I wanted to be a part of a horror film for a long time. I did Bhoot in the past).” He further added, “I love this genre. Everybody connects with the genre.”
Furthermore, when asked about his personal experience of hypnosis in real life, Ajay Devgn said, “Mere saath aise case hue hai. Pehle hum jab outdoor (schedules) mein jaate the. Recently nahi hua. First 10-12 years, we have seen it all. (I’ve personally experienced such cases during outdoor shoots. It hasn’t happened to me recently, but we have seen it all in the first 10-12 years of my career).”
Meanwhile, R Madhavan shared, “Haan. Kai baar hua hai. Vashikaran har roz hota hai. Social media vashikaran kar leta hai. Blue whale ne teenagers ko apne vash mein kar liya tha. Yeh har roz hota hai isliye bachke rehna chahiye. (Yes, it has happened a lot of times. Hypnosis happens every day. Social media does hypnosis. Blue Whale had teenagers hypnotized. It happens every day, and we should stay alert).”
