The movie was initially reported to come out during Diwali 2023, but the makers needed more time to brush the CGI works. As a result, the makers chose a date three days before Pongal for the film’s release. Since the Sakranti/Pongal phase is a busy time of the year in Tamil cinema, the movie is facing competition from two other films. Dhanush’s Captain Miller and Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s Merry Christmas were also released on the same day. At the Telugu box office, Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram and Teja Sajja’s Hanuman also came out on January 12, 2024.
