Dunki Drop 3: Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Releases Song ‘Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se’

Following the upbeat song “Lutt Putt Gaya,” Dunki’s musical journey has taken a soulful turn with Sonu Nigam’s rendition of “Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se.” The song is being praised for its poignant narrative, delving into the journey undertaken by Shah Rukh Khan’s character and his friends in the film.

As revealed in the press notes, “Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se” adds “another layer of emotion” to Dunki, portraying a tale of four friends and their quest to reach foreign shores. It explores the profound ache of yearning for one’s homeland, resonating with those separated from their roots in pursuit of a brother future.

Many netizens found the similarity of themes with Shah Rukh Khan’s earlier film, Swades. The film, which was released in 2004, also dealt with desperation to connect with the motherland when living in a foreign country. One X user even wrote, “‘Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se” which is the best SRK song in decades. Full Swades “Ye jo desh hai mera vibes.'”

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his deep connection to the song. He exclaimed, (originally in Hindi) “Today I am sharing this song that came to my heart with you. Raju and Sonu seem like one of our own just by name. And this song which both of them have composed is also their own.”

He further added, “It’s about our family members. It’s about our soil. It’s about finding solace in the arms of our country. Sometimes we all go away from our home, from the village, from the city to make a life. But our hearts remain in our homes in the country only. My favorite from Dunki.”

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki is releasing on December 21, 2023.
