Aaditya Thackeray, a prominent Indian politician and MLA of Maharashtra, has taken a significant step in the ongoing investigations surrounding the tragic deaths of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager, Disha Salian. Thackeray, who has been facing allegations of involvement in these cases, has approached the Bombay High Court. He urged for a fair opportunity to present his case before any decisions are made in a contentious Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
The PIL was filed in September by Rashid Khan Pathan, President of the Supreme Court & High Court Litigants Association of India. He calls for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into Aaditya Thackeray’s alleged connections with the deaths of Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian. It further seeks his immediate arrest and custodial interrogation.

The PIL is currently awaiting a hearing before the high court bench. In response, Thackeray, represented by his advocate Rahul Arote, submitted an application on October 13, 2023. In this application, he asserts that the PIL is not maintainable, as the state authorities are already investigating the case.
Thackeray’s legal team has also filed an intervention application. They have requested an audience before any court orders are issued in the PIL. They emphasize the ongoing CBI investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise. Despite the passage of three years, the case remains active.
On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput, known for his role in Kedarnath, was found deceased in his Bandra apartment. The death of the actor was initially classified as a suicide by the Mumbai police. Later, the case was taken over by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The investigation into this high-profile case has continued to unravel the mysteries surrounding the actor’s death.
Disha Salian, Sushant’s former manager, had also passed away under tragic circumstances shortly before the actor’s demise. Authorities have been actively pursuing leads in her case.
