Secret Santa Slashes Its Way to DVD

Holiday horror film Secret Santa hits DVD in December

Here we are, almost in the grip of December and nary a new Santa slasher flick in sight. Thank the lord then, for first time director Mike McMurran’s cheap and cheerful Christmas carnage creeper Secret Santa, the Canadian-made camp slasher that swept festivals last year and is now seeing a DVD and Digital HD release on December 13th from Wild Eye Releasing.

Secret Santa is in the tradition of such seasonal horror flicks as Black Christmas, Christmas Evil and Silent Night, Deadly Night and tells the story of a group of eccentric college kids, struggling to get through the hectic exam period. A liquor-filled Christmas party is planned to ease the stress. They plan to toast the end of the semester with a Secret Santa exchange. Little do they know, a killer is in town and has a special present for all the girls and boys. Will they dare to open their presents?

The DVD release of Secret Santa will include a feature-length commentary with writer-director Mike McMurran and a behind the scenes documentary.
