JACOB’S LADDER Redux Gets its Star

Classic 90s psyche-thriller gets the redo treatment.

Adrian Lyne’s nightmarish amalgam of CARNIVAL OF SOULS and INCIDENT AT OWL CREEK BRIDGE, 1990’s JACOB’S LADDER, is getting the remake treatment via LD Entertaiment.

DEADLINE dropped the news today that actor Michael Ealy (UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING) will star in the picture and that the central narrative thrust deals not with a half-dead war vet hallucinating a phantasmagorical version of his life (sorry for spoiling that film’s ending!), rather it’s a “re-imagining” and a “paranoid action thriller about two brothers”.

Oh dear.

The film is written by by Jeff Buhler and Sarah Thorp. The project is the brainchild of Jake Wade Wall (the remakes of THE HITCHER and WHEN A STRANGER CALLS…double Oh dear!). Principal photography is set to begin in mid May.

In the meantime, here’s the trailer of the real JACOB’S LADDER…
