Chainsaw to the Sky: Official Teaser, Image for Ash vs. Evil Dead

Everyone’s hopped up with excitement for the upcoming Starz sequel series, Ash vs. Evil Dead, the Sam Raimi-written, Bruce Campbell-starring continuation of their iconic collaborations. Most exciting for me however, is we now have an official banner image to head up all of the impending news about the show!

Starring Campbell as cult favorite Ash, as well as Lucy Lawless, Jill Marie-Jones, Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago, Ash vs. Evil Dead sees its title character, “the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter having spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal.  Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release  the unlikely hero from its ‘Evil’ grip.”

In the series, Santiago plays “Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick and believes in Ash’s heroism even if Ash himself doesn’t,” while DeLorenzo is “Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past and who is reluctantly dragged into the fight against Evil with Ash and Pablo.” Jill Marie Jones is a state trooper hunting Ash, thinking he’s responsible for the murder of her partner. Similarly, Lawless is Ruby, “a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks.  The only problem: she believes that Ash is the cause of it all.”

About the series, Campbell previously said, ““Something we’re doing is taking the horror parts very seriously, and it’s going to cause Ash—this crabby middle-aged man who doesn’t want to get dragged back into this—a lot of problems. He’s not the Ash he used to be… Ash has survivor’s guilt. You could have a heyday with his PTSD. He’s a war vet. He doesn’t want to talk about it, and he’ll lie about that stump on his hand to impress the ladies. This is a guy who’s got some issues. He’s emotionally stunted. But he’s the guy you want in the foxhole next to you… He continues being a trash-talking know-it-all who doesn’t really know anything.”

Ash vs. Evil Dead arrives in 10 half-hour episodes this fall on Starz. Find the teaser, below.
