NBC’s Little House of Horror Now Orders Up Dracula Series

The first two are either well into shooting or on the cusp of shooting.  Frankenstein is an in-development sort of thing and Dracula…well, that’s what we’re here to talk about.

Deadline has an update saying that the network – which is keen to establish itself in the world of horror on the small screen – has ordered up 10 episodes of Dracula.  And Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors) is going to play the famous count.

According to the site, “Dracula (Meyers) arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier but falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.”

Yawn.  Haven’t we tread this “lost love” bit before?

Tony Krantz is one of the producers on this endeavor.  He spearheaded that Raw Feed direct-to-DVD line that Warner Bros. was kicking out a few years back (with films like Rest Stop and Otis, to name two).
