Victor Frankenstein Adaptation Heads to Ghost House

Raimi to produce film

Back in March of 2010 we reported “The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein” by Peter Ackroyd was being developed for the big screen with David Auburn (Proof) writing the script.

Deadline posted a small update today – a telling sign that the project is alive and well. It appears Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Ghost House Pictures and RT Features are producing, however, it’s unknown if Timur Bekmambetov is circling the project as originally announced.

Published in the U.S. in 2009, the story pairs Victor Frankenstein and poet Percy Bysshe Shelley (who would go on to marry “Frankenstein” author Mary Shelley) and is a unique spin on the mythos. Screenwriter David Auburn (Proof) penned the adaptation.
