Wes Craven Drops Some Interesting Details About Scream 4

Sidney’s suffers a familial loss

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Wes Craven spoke about Sidney Prescott’s returning to her home town of Woodsboro in Scream 4.

“Sid is under attack,” the director says. “She has a phobia – she’s never come back to her town except for the funeral of her father. Now she’s returning to a world that is sane again, and then, of course, immediately it is not!”

In the film, Sidney is now the author of a self-help book who stops by Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

The fourth chapter in the series opens April 15.
