Original helmer makes announcement
Who better to announce the director of this October’s Paranormal Activity 2 than the original film’s Oren Peli.
Peli states at ParanormalMovie.com that Kip Williams is the man for the job. He’s working from a script by Michael Perry. “I don’t want to spoil the story,” says Peli, “but I promise it’ll surprise you.”
Who is Kip Williams (pictured)? Well, run a search at the IMDB and Tod Williams’ listing will come up (Kip is a nickname). He directed The Door in the Floor with Kim Bassinger and Jeff Bridges, before that, The Adventures of Sebastian Cole with Entourage‘s Adrian Grenier.
So, at the end of the day, the director turned out to be none of the contenders the L.A. Times said were up for the film (Brad Anderson, Brian De Palma, Greg McLean…)
Peli is producing the sequel. It was recently announced that Akiva Goldsman was brought in as an executive producer. Paranormal Activity 2 opens on October 22.
