This modern take on the Robert Louis Stevenson classic tale would have reunited the actor with director Abel Ferrera, nevertheless, Whitaker confirmed to Shock Till You Drop today – while out promoting Repo Men – that he is no longer attached to the film.
Whitaker was set to star alongside 50 Cent. The former playing Dr. Jekyll, the latter as Mr. Hyde. Plans for the film were first announced last May. Warner Bros. revealed its intentions to distribute in the U.S. several months later.
