Deadgirl’s Haaga to Begin Work on Chop

Hot revenge script begins shooting soon

Deadgirl screenwriter Trent Haaga announced his directorial debut with the independent thriller Chop, a revenge thriller from co-writer Adam Minrovich.

Chop centers on a seemingly innocent young couple, forced by a psychotic stranger to
confront their duplicitous past. The film is described as being in the vein of Fargo and Oldboy.

The script was a hot property in Hollywood, nabbing its co-writer, Minarovich, a top agent within weeks of making the rounds. Haaga received offers from numerous production companies, but secured independent financing after the 2008 Toronto Film Festival premiere of Deadgirl, allowing him to retain creative control of the project.

Chop is being produced by Chad Ferrin and Jeff Hamilton, and stars
powerhouse Indian actress Tanishaa Mukherji and newcomer Billy Bakshi.
Cameras roll in L.A. next month.
