Tom Atkins Hints at Possible Role in Creepshow Season 2

Actor Tom Atkins may appear in the second season of Shudder’s Creepshow series — should the second season actually receive the green light. According to the actor, who played a small though pivotal role in the original 1982 film, he was offered a small part in the first season but ultimately couldn’t make it happen. However, he went on to hint at a possible season two appearance.

“[Showrunner] Greg Nicotero gave me a shout out and said, ‘We’re going to do this, and I’ll have you down for a role,'” Atkins shared with Comic Book“And I didn’t get into the first one, but maybe next year. Maybe next season.”

That’s not much to go on, but it should at least give fans of the franchise hope.

Shudder released the first Creepshow trailer for executive producer Greg Nicotero’s upcoming horror anthology series back in July, which you can check out in the player below! The series premieres on September 26.

The original 1982 Creepshow was directed by George A. Romero from a screenplay by Stephen King that paid tribute to the EC horror comics (ala “Tales From the Crypt”) of the 1950’s. The film featured stars such as Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson and Ed Harris, and grossed $21 million at the box office. It was followed by a sequel in 1987, directed by the first film’s cinematographer Michael Gornick from a screenplay by Romero, once again based on short stories by King, grossing $14 million.
