General Hospital has witnessed the comeback of a popular character. It is none other than Peter August, played by Wes Ramsey. He made a surprise return on Thursday’s episode.
Here is all you need to know about the latest comeback on the ABC soap opera.
Wes Ramsey returns as Peter August on General Hospital
Wes Ramsey returned as Peter August on General Hospital on the July 2 episode.
The villain appeared as Anna’s hallucination, who is currently undergoing treatment. For the unaware, Peter died when he was stabbed by Felicia. Anna claimed she would call the ambulance but stayed by Peter’s side till he succumbed to his wounds. In the recent episode, Dr Laurent informed Felicia that Anna is ready to go home after separating hallucinations from reality.
As Anna closed the door to her room, she heard a familiar voice saying, “Nicely done.” She turned and saw it was Peter sitting in a chair. He also asked her, “Do you think she bought it?” Peter’s vision might follow Anna to her home in Port Charles. Moreover, Peter returned as a hallucination in the January episode to haunt Anna. Ramsey opened up on his comeback that time with the TV Insider.
“It was a surprise, and it was also a pleasant surprise,” the actor said. Ramsey continued, “Not something that I was anticipating, but certainly I was ready to step back into that world and do what I could to help out my old friends.” He also talked about his character in a candid way. “Maybe I’m the only one, but I always saw Peter as being a product of his making, and maybe misunderstood in some ways,” Ramsey said.
The 48-year-old continued, “Certainly not when he’s wreaking havoc and in a vengeful mood, but he was groomed and taught, and in his own way, I think, abused by the same man that groomed and taught him.” He shared how it made sense that “Peter would be a symbolic manifestation of Anna Devane’s guilty conscience, based on some of the things she’s gone through in her life.”
