After a sudden health scare, General Hospital fans are wondering if Portia is leaving the show. Amid the chaos surrounding the case of Drew’s shooting, Portia suffers from severe pain after learning about Curtis’ arrest. So, is she and the baby safe?

The latest on Portia leaving General Hospital
During the closing moments of General Hospital’s December 10 episode, Portia reveals to Isaiah that Curtis got arrested. She later explains that if Drew hadn’t blackmailed her in the first place, this would’ve never happened. When Isaiah asks why Drew blackmailed her, Portia suddenly grabs her stomach and cries in pain. In the following episode, Portia asks Isaiah to call Britt and insists that it has to be her.
Given the severity of her screams and the fact that she is pregnant, many General Hospital fans were worried that Portia might miscarry or something worse. However, it turned out to be a false alarm.
When Britt arrives, she treats Portia based on her symptoms and reassures her that she’ll be okay. With Lucas’ help, she also orders a bunch of tests to make sure everything is indeed fine. She later steps out and informs Isaiah that Portia will recover and speculates that she suffered from severe dehydration, which was most likely triggered by stress. While Isaiah seemed happy, he also learnt that she was pregnant. When he asks Portia if the baby was his, she admits that she doesn’t know. She also tells him that she would’ve eventually told him if the baby turned out to be his.
In the latest episode, which aired on December 12, her medical reports confirmed Britt’s speculation. Portia is currently being treated with IV medications. Isaiah invites her to his cabin, where she can relax and recover after she’s discharged from the hospital.
The situation also worked out for Britt because Lucas offered to write a letter of recommendation for her to get her medical license back. Lucas said that he believes that she’s a good doctor and should be back at the hospital.
