Travis Kelce recently shared a surprising fact about Taylor Swift’s performance at TEU’s Tight Ends & Friends concert in Nashville. The concert took place on June 24, where the pop star and country musician, Kane Brown, delighted audiences by performing “Shake It Off.”
Besides Swift and Brown, the event also featured performances from Jordan Davis, Chase Rice, Sophia Scott, and Graham Barham. The concert marked the pop sensation’s first on-stage performance since the conclusion of her massive Eras Tour. It was also her first performance since she reclaimed the rights to the masters of her first six albums.
Here’s what Travis Kelce said about Taylor Swift’s performance at Tight End University (TEU).
Travis Kelce opens up about Taylor Swift’s surprise performance at TEU
Travis Kelce explained that Taylor Swift’s surprise performance at Tight End University was not exactly a surprise and had been planned.
“Tay Tay showed up. I mean, you already know. We’re in Nashville, she grew up in Nashville,” Kelce told his brother, Jason, in a recent episode of the New Heights podcast. He added, “She moved there when she was younger. And yeah, we had this plan for a while that we were gonna have some fun with the tight ends.”
The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end refused to divulge when he and the “Bad Blood” singer came up with the idea for the latter’s performance. However, he noted that he let Kane Brown figure out the details, calling him “a true professional.”
Kelce recalled Swift approaching Brown and his band to tell them that if they were fine with it, she would take the stage and perform a song to see if they could “pop the roof of this place.” The Grotesquerie actor praised the “All Too Well” songstress, saying she “rocked the stage yet again.”
The NFL star revealed that his girlfriend prepped the band by “doing musical notes” backstage. He added that she went on stage without practicing and gave a “pitch-perfect” performance. “It was awesome, man,” Kelce stated.
Kelce recently made headlines after claims arose online, suggesting he and Swift used their outings to garner attention. He shot down those claims in an appearance on the Bussin’ with The Boys podcast. The professional football player stated that he and his girlfriend were simply “having fun being a couple.”
