Fans of The Chosen have been eagerly following the biblical drama’s journey through the life of Jesus, and with the release of Season 5 on the horizon, many are wondering how many more seasons. The good news? There’s still more to come after this season.
Here’s how many seasons of The Chosen there will be after Season 5
To answer how many seasons of The Chosen will be made after the Season 5 release, creator Dallas Jenkins has confirmed that the show is planned as a seven-season series. It basically means there will be two more installments after the upcoming fifth season.
The upcoming Season 5 will cover Jesus’ final week before the Crucifixion, including important moments like the Last Supper and Judas Iscariot’s betrayal. Following this trajectory, The Chosen Season 6 will depict the Crucifixion, while Season 7 will explore the Resurrection and the early days of the disciples. The chapter where they spread Jesus’ teachings, loosely based on the Book of Acts.
“We’re not going to go very far in the Book of Acts at the end of Season 7,” Jenkins said ( via Crosswalk). However, he expressed interest in continuing the story of the early church if given the opportunity.
Now, for those wondering what the release date plan is for The Chosen Season 5, it will release episodes in three parts across various theaters before streaming. For US viewers, Part 1, which will have Episodes 1 and 2, will release on March 28, 2025, whereas Part 2, comprising Episodes 3 and 5 will release on April 4.
Lastly, Part 3 with Episodes 6 and 8 will release on April 11, 2025. Following the theatrical run, the season is expected to hit Prime Video in the U.S. by early to mid-June 2025. All in all, with two more seasons planned, The Chosen is far from over.
