Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Who is Adam Copeland’s Character in the Disney Plus Show?

Disney PlusPercy Jackson and the Olympians is set to feature wrestler Adam Copeland aka Edge in a supporting but pivotal role. However, fans are curious about the character he is playing. Here is what you need to know.

Who is Adam Copeland playing in Disney Plus’ Percy Jackson and the Olympians?

Adam Copeland is playing Ares, the Greek God of War in Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

In the Percy Jackson books, Ares, much like the Greek mythology he is based on, is the God of War. He is also the father of Clarisse La Rue, a member of Camp Half-Blood who serves as a bully to fellow member Percy Jackson and who is desperately trying to impress him and earn his approval. Ares himself also mocks, bullies, and threatens Percy a lot. Ares alongside Clarisse also plays a prominent role in the first book, The Lightning Thief, which the first season of the Percy Jackson Disney Plus show will be based on.

As such, fans should expect many appearances from Adam Copeland’s Ares. The trailers for the first season did tease the character’s prominence by showing a brief clip of him.

Copeland, aka Edge, is a popular and iconic wrestler, who wrestled as part of WWE between 1998 and 2023. Copeland soon transitioned into an acting career and had roles in various film and television projects. He most notably had a guest appearance in the first episode of the second season of CW’s The Flash, where he played Al Rothstein/Atom Smasher, and a recurring role between 2017 and 2020 in the series Vikings, where he appeared Kjell Flatnose for 25 episodes.
