Anyone But You is set to hit theaters this Friday but viewers, especially those with children, who are looking to see the film are curious about its age rating and whether or not it is safe for children to see. Here are both questions answered.
What is the Anyone But You age rating?
The age rating for Anyone But You is R. Which is “Restricted”.
The R-rating is because the film’s trailers, marketing, and promotional material have teased a raunchy movie that will be filled with a lot of inappropriate and graphic scenes such as nudity and sex scenes. This is unlike most romantic comedies where the rating is primarily PG-13 and the content shown is not very graphic and often restricted to simply kisses and hugs.
Accordingly, viewers who are 17 and above can see the film without any issues, but viewers under 17 will require an older person to accompany them to watch the movie.
Is Anyone But You safe for children?
As the R rating suggests, Anyone But You is not safe for children or those between the ages of 13 and 17 to watch. Those who are children and in the 13-17 age range, but want to see the Sydney Sweeney-Glen Powell film in the theaters, must be accompanied by their parents or an older viewer.
Anyone But You is directed by Will Gluck, who is best known for his work on the Peter Rabbit films and Emma Stone’s Easy A. The story of the film will be loosely based on William Shakespeare’s play Much Ado About Nothing.
