However, the film seems to be clearly inspired by Star Wars films, particularly Rogue One and the original Star Wars film in terms of its story, setting, and characters. Like Rogue One and the OG Star Wars film, Rebel Moon is set in a galaxy or universe that is controlled with an iron fist by a tyrannical regime and follows a group of rebels who try to save their universe and galaxy by taking a stand against the said regime.
Interestingly, Rebel Moon was born as a Star Wars project with mature themes Snyder had pitched to Lucasfilm shortly after its acquisition by Disney, before it was repurposed by him and producer Eric Newman as a separate standalone television franchise which later changed into a film.
Moreover, the antagonistic soldiers or forces of the Imperium, the tyrannical regime of Rebel Moon’s main setting Mother World, are similar in appearance and skill to Star Wars’ stormtroopers.
